Mission Statement:
Space and Real Estate Management is responsible for management of the University’s space inventory, both on and off grounds, to support achievement of the institution’s strategic goals and objectives. The office carries out this responsibility by enhancing and maintaining accurate and pertinent space related data; conducting space needs assessments; establishing a systematic process for matching the space needs of departments with available space; developing space management tools; assisting senior leadership by aligning the management of space and real estate resources with institutional vision and priorities; assisting the University of Virginia Foundation in real estate acquisitions as appropriate; and managing all forms of leases, easements, and licenses in the best interest of the University.
