INVESTIGATOR KYLE D. WILLIAMS

 

Investigator Kyle Williams is a sworn law enforcement officer within the Commonwealth of Virginia, employed by the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office.  He holds the rank of Investigator with over eight (8) years of combined law enforcement experience and is assigned to the Special Investigations Division of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office.  Investigator Williams is a member of the Federal Task Force for the Investigation of Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC). 

He is Virginia Certified Police Officer through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), and is a graduate of the Roanoke City Police Academy. After a tour of duty in the United States Marine Corps and prior to joining the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, he was a certified police officer with the Roanoke City Police Department for approximately seven (7) years and served as a Patrolman, Community Policeman, and  Detective in the investigation of Grand Larceny and Burglary, Juvenile Offenses, and High Technology Crimes.   

Since March of 2004, he has been assigned as an investigator to Operation Blue Ridge Thunder, which is a federal undercover taskforce investigating Sexual Exploitation of Children on the Internet.  He is currently investigating active child pornography and child sexual exploitation cases.

He has received over 800 hours of training in the investigation of crimes including those crimes involving the computer and the sexual exploitation of children. Investigator Williams is also a Virginia Certified Instructor, Field Training Officer, and a member of the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Team.
